Living together during lockdown
This is an uncertain time that can cause worry and stress. As most of us are spending more time at home, it’s important we remain mindful of our neighbours.
Working from home and with children off school brings challenges to our usual routine.
We all have a part to play in being even more considerate and tolerant of those around us. That’s why we’re asking our customers to think about their actions on their home, communities and neighbourhoods.
Here are some tips to keep everyone safe and well in our communities
- When using your garden and balconies during the day, try to keep noise to a minimum so as not to disturb your neighbours who may be working or any key workers who may be sleeping
- It’s great to enjoy some perks of being at home but please keep noise to a minimum. Music and TV should be kept at a reasonable level – and be mindful of time and noise when doing DIY
- Respect the government’s advice on social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus. We understand that you may miss speaking to your neighbours, family and friends, but please keep at least two metres away at all times. If you see people breaking the social distancing rules, please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101
Be kind and understanding – these are new circumstances to all of us and it will take us a little while to get used to them.
Communities supporting each other
We’re also hearing about lots of customers helping each other out with dropping off shopping and sharing important information while social distancing. It’s very important that we keep this community spirit up to help and support each other.
